The Top Celebrity Politicians

Ronald Reagan

Dreamy matinee idol Ronald Reagan wasn't the first movie star to try and turn fame into votes.

Shirley Temple had already beaten him to it when she ran for Congress in 1967 on a pro-Vietnam platform -- but he was the first and only showbiz star to go all the way to the White House.

The star of Bedtime for Bonzo and the Cattle Queen of Montana (Ron didn't play the title role, by the way) took the Presidency away from the Democrats when he beat Jimmy Carter in 1980.
